Samsung Galaxy S will be Unveiled at CTIA Wireless 2010

Samsung has taken the covers off of their new Android phone, the Galaxy S. The announcement of the new mobile handset was delivered this morning by J.K. Shin, president of Samsung Mobile.

First, the Galaxy S comes with a 1GHz CPU which Shin was quoted as saying will be the new processor standard for Samsung so as to allow the company to deliver better resolution for graphics, video streaming and other multimedia displays. To take advantage of the faster processor, the Galaxy S comes with a Super AMOLED display screen that measures 4-inches in size and offers greater screen brightness while at the same time improving battery life by up to 20%.

According to Shin, the faster processor and display screen are great, but equally important is the availability of digital content to take advantage of new hardware. In that regards, the Galaxy S has been designed for optimized viewing of full length feature films and other video content. Also in the works are deals to deliver newspaper, magazine and ebook content.

CTIA Wireless 2010 is just around the corner, and Samsung is preparing to launch Samsung Galaxy S, an Android-powered smart phone with 4-inch AMOLED touch screen, in the show. The Galaxy S will be running on the latest Android 2.1 operating system, rivaling HTC Evo 4G Android. This Samsung smartphone features a 5-megapixel digital camera and 1GHz processor. We hope to learn which carrier in United States will carry Samsung Galaxy S in the show.

Motorola's New Android Phone Ships With An Old Version Of Android, No Multi-Touch 'Pinch' Zoom

Another day, another Google Android-powered smartphone. This time, it's the Motorola i1, the first Android phone that supports push-to-talk walkie-talkie service via Sprint's Nextel network.

Two shortcomings: Motorola confirms to us that the i1 will ship with an old version of Android -- 1.5 -- though it could eventually be updated over the air. And Motorola confirms the i1 won't include multi-touch "pinch" zooming -- a feature made popular by the iPhone, but present in other Android phones like the Nexus One.

These are probably not deal-breaker features for anyone who values push-to-talk more than any other feature -- which is likely the only reason they're loyal to Nextel in the first place. And, to be sure, the Motorola i1 is much better than the vast majority of Nextel phones ever offered.

But it's just one more example of the Android market becoming increasingly fragmented, as different phone vendors ship more phones running different (often outdated) versions of the same software, with different hardware configurations. It's becoming impossible for a developer to be able to write one app and assume it'll work the same on every Android phone.

Android's open-source basis and flexible nature may, in the long run, be its best asset. But it is not stopping Android from becoming more confusing to developers and consumers.

Nokia E72

Introduction / Preview : Nokia E72

Swift, slim and resourceful are three words that accurately describe the new Nokia E72. Nokia's latest full QWERTY smartphone brings a rich mobile email and instant messaging experience right out of the box, making it the ideal device for people that want to be productive in both their personal and professional lives.

Building on the formula from the hugely successful Nokia E71, Nokia's best selling QWERTY device to date, this latest arrival in Nokia's Eseries family maintains essential elements of its predecessor, whilst still improving its capabilities in a number of areas. Nokia also upgraded the camera to 5 megapixels and added a standard 3.5 mm audio jack.

On top of these developments, for the first time, owners will be able to set up instant messaging (IM) accounts provided by Nokia Messaging direct from the homescreen. In just a few steps, device owners will be able to connect to their favorite IM accounts such as Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk and Ovi, amongst many others.

These new IM features are complimented by Nokia's range of email solutions with a lifetime license for Nokia's mobile email and IM service, Nokia Messaging, as well as onboard clients for Mail for Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes Traveler. Accessing popular accounts such as Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, Windows Live Hotmail, Ovi Mail and thousands of other email service providers is simple through improved on-device email setup, with the same easy to use UI integrating all of the owner's corporate email accounts as well.

Performance improvements are evident throughout the user experience including faster Internet up- and downlink speeds. Other notable features which should make the Nokia E72 as popular as recent Nokia Eseries introductions include A-GPS and compass with integrated Maps, including lifetime walk and 10 days of turn-by-turn navigation if activated within the first three months. Conversations are also clearer with active noise cancellation, and a torch can be activated with a single press of the spacebar key. The office capabilities have been updated with a new version of Quickoffice, which delivers Microsoft Office 2007 compatibility as well as free version upgrades when new features become available.

The Nokia E72 is expected to begin shipping late in the third quarter of 2009 at an estimated retail price of EUR 350 before taxes and subsidies.

Samsung A887 Solstice

Samsung Solstice sports a touch-screen design with few physical controls. It shows characteristics of several previous Samsung models. The Solstice offers a trim design with rounded corners, it measures 4.3 inches by 2.1 inches by 0.5 inch and weighs 3.3 ounces, which gives it a comfortable and sturdy feel in the hand.

With support for 262,000 colors and 400×240 pixels, it has a pleasant resolution that shows colors and graphics well. Samsung’s TouchWiz interface gives you instant access to a variety of features, though we wish its customization options were more extensive. The icon-based menu interface is simple and intuitive. Permanent touch icons on the bottom of the screen open the dialpad, the phone book, and the main menu.

The 2-megapixel camera takes pictures in five resolutions, from 1,600×1,200 pixels down to 320×240 pixels, and you can choose from four quality settings. Other editing options include four color effects, exposure metering, four white-balance settings, an adjustable brightness, a night mode, and a self-timer. The Solstice also features three shooting modes (continuous, panorama, and mosaic), 20 frames, and a “smile shot” option that promises to detect when a subject is smiling.

New 3G Mobile Phone Manufacturer in UK

Europe UK : In recent years, the world of mobile phones have turned a shade of grey. A thin line separating one company’s design from the other. Neo, a new mobile phone company, claims to be the brand to add some long awaited flavor back into the mobile phone industry. Above shows the GSM TriBand Neo 808i. Specification below.

Neo is all set to launch a new generation of mobile phones that are fashionable to own and technologically advanced to use. Currently in talks with global distributors and networks, Neo phones are slated for a March 2007 launch in the Middle East and will be available in Europe by April.

Pushing the limits of phone design, Neo will be launching its first mobile phone, the 808i that will be one of the smallest and lightest phones in today’s marketplace. Measuring only 65mm x 40mm x 13mm and weighing less than 90g. For those who don’t have a ruler handy, lets just say that it is about half the size of your current mobile phone, if not smaller.

Despite its small size, the phone will pack in great features like a 1.3 MP camera, Bluetooth, MP3 & MP4 player, WAP capability and a memory slot expandable to 2 GB. Each phone will come with a built in 128mb storage and a free 128mb micro SD card. Neo also plans to launch a new line of phones with Wifi and 3G capabilities in the second quarter of 2007.

Neo is dedicated to launching new and innovative designs into the market. Pallav Patel, President of Neo Products Limited, says, “Over the years, mobile phones have become a necessity, without which our lives would come to a stand still. Always in our hands and in the eyes of the people around us, we all want our phones to be unique. Neo phones have a look that will set them apart from all other phones. We believe that phones need to be more than just a necessity; they have to be an extension of our personalities and be a USEFUL fashion accessory instead. We all want phones with the latest technology. Neo encapsulates that technology within a distinctive shell. We don’t intend to be just another mobile phone brand that will be lost amongst the crowd. We are introducing a fresh, innovative and dynamic new brand; whose primary focus is - “Your Style”. Being Neo’s ethos, “Your Style” is the backbone of all our creations. And it is this approach that will keep our customers wanting to see what’s next,”
